If they can't eliminate these "socialist programs" they'll at least reduce the length of time people can utilize them.
Once you retire, capitalism has no use for you, anyway.
Yes, and the decline in automobile fatalities is due to increased automobile safety standards. (but what kind?)
People are living longer because they're healthier, too.

My BP is lowered with other medication. I'm also discovering that there are multiple studies showing that fats don't cause CHD.
People dying less is good, but I'd like it if fewer people got them, too.
A couple of years ago, I was in hospital for 2 and a half weeks. (Nothing cardiovascular). It didn't cost me a penny. Nor did the ambulance that took me there or any tests.
That's civilisation...

2. Cancer
3. Other - most likely RX drugs, painkillers and antibiotics

If you're eating a healthy, balanced diet, butter and beef and other fatty foods can be good for you in moderation.
Butter is far safer than margarine. But you need to eat vegetables, get some fiber, and exercise, too.

One of the dirty secrets about margarine having "zero trans fat" is that what qualifies as "zero percent" according to the FDA is anything less than one percent per unit of measure.
Me, seeing the included pictures of the man's hands oozing cholesterol: 🤢 "nope, I've seen enough"
We have an EPIDEMIC of obesity in western societies!!
*I wouldn't think any graph would need to be adjusted for age, as most people with heart disease will be seniors, but would need to be for population

See you in 4 years...if we survive
Are there regional statistics for the US ?
Translation: We synthesized our data to show the point that we're trying to make in the graph. We could have synthesized the same data in a different manner to make a different point, (and perhaps we might in the future).
The United States, France, the United Kingdom, and Italy.
Mostly the effects of medical interventions are smaller.
This estimated the reasons for the fall in CHD mortality in USA.
Other papers look at other countries. Similar reasons. Slightly different effects of different effects from risk factor reductions & interventions.

Population increase.
Fossil fuels decrease.
Lifespan increase.
Heart disease decrease.
You people truly don't get what's going on and it's clear.
Fuck off everyone and their bullshit graphs.

What is the increase in death due to cancer?
I feel I have seen data recently that indicates cancer related deaths have increased in the US. I would love to see the data for both over the same period.
