Bad enough for anyone to claim the only point of impeachment is winning future elections—it’s the Constitutional response to abuse of power—but worse to say impeachment failed because Trump got reelected.
He lost in 2020, after the deserved impeachment the same Dems said would hand him reelection.

Ended up writing about Dems and why they're resisting the grassroots "impeach Trump" campaign - they're not saying he doesn't deserve it, just that they won't do it.

Very leadership. Much courage.
Makes me really want to fundraise for them or vote for them while they hide behind excuses.
When 1st impeachment of DJT took place, Dems held the house.
You can argue if this is about creating attention for public to care.
But to think there's decent numbers of GOP would allow the process to impeach & convict, that's not going to happen.
Criminally indicting and arresting him has only worked for once for Trump.
So, we are supposed to let him act as though the Constitution, laws, rules, treaties, contracts, don't apply when he wants to oppose them? I say NO.
There’s a case it hurt him, but n it because of the pandemic itself. Just about every world leader, and every single U.S. governor, saw approval ratings rise as COVID first it. Trump lost that bump faster and more completely than any other.
The rest are ok with status quo
Their actions or inaction prove it
Impeaching Trump in late 2019 was not the main issue in the 2020 election. Not close.
It’s ridiculous to base decisions today on the assumption that voters will have it front of mind 1.5 years from now. And that no opinions will change. Pure guesswork.
He's a corrupt, fraudster, sexual predator, anti-constitutional psycho.
Merrick Garland's reluctance to tool up midwifed this debacle
I’m sorry, that’s not savviness. That’s overthinking, guesswork, and an excuse for complacency.
Just another expression of the fight - don’t fight divide. I strongly disagree with those who say the move is to watch it happen and hope that works.
I don’t know why anyone, including in Democratic Party leadership, believes that’s the key to winning votes, but they apparently do.
Not only do I think they’re wrong about the politics, the bigger issue is they’re wrong to base decisions now on guesswork like that.
The lives they wish to improve are theirs, first and foremost.
