Shortcuts are great in coding - "int" beats writing "integer" every time. "uint_16" on the other hand...
I'm so tired of seeing things like "idx" in my work's code when "index" is only 2 extra letters and we have auto complete
UserId in PascalCase languages.
user_id in snake_case languages.
userID is not even on the menu. Get that out of here.

C#? UserId.
The dictionary says the word "ID" is spelled in all uppercase. Lower camel case says the first letter of each word except the first is capitalized.
So, you could argue for "userId" as I don't think camel case addresses words with embedded capital letters.
