Jewel was the surprise guest last night at the MAHA inaugural ball.

She sang “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” for Robert Kennedy Jr. and Cheryl Hines.

Also remembering a reporter from the Washington Post saying that you could say anything about Katharine Graham herself, but writing about her friends could get you in trouble. I think as many heel turns come from solidarity with “unfairly” treated friends as minds being changed.

It's important that artists don't fall for the current moment. I have a long memory and as I have Irish blood in me, I can hold a lifetime grudge. I will be deleting from my life any artist who publicly aligns with fascism.

This bums me out in a weird, distantly para-social way. This issue of RS held longstanding joint-rolling duty in my apartment back in the day. Over time, I came to be pretty sure that, not only did she approve, but if she were around she'd be fun to roll one with. Ah well, all heroes die.
