Anyone discounting a 3d Trump term per the 22d am + the 12th am is thinking magically: The 22d dsn’t bar *serving* a 3d term, only being *elected* 3 times. The 12th dsn’t bar running for VP unless “ineligible” to serve as Pres, but Trump isn’t ineligible. QED!

The constitution for all its many flaws is actually laid out in a way where a regular educated person can pretty much make sense of what they were going for. So of course we have two hundred years of lawyers lying to your face about that encrusting it. They don't get paid otherwise

If the trial couldn't be completed, sure. If the jury didn't return a verdict, that means the prosecutors couldn't convince the jury at trial!
