Considering how Lum and now Ranma are making resurgences thanks to their remakes, I really hope we get a new Tenchi Muyo series some day so more people can fall in love with Ryoko.
I like modern anime and all but I would like more definition in the faces overall lol. It's obviously easier to animate flat dish plates for faces, but man it's kinda hard to recognize them as analogues for people sometimes
I miss Tenchi Muyo. Couldn't follow the plot to save my life, but it might be the only anime I've ever watched where I genuinely like ALL of the main cast.
Tenchi was super confusing to follow as a fan. There wasn't one clear continuity; each incarnation just used the same characters in a different story and often didn't even keep the characters consistent.
I loved the characters but it was not an easy property to follow.
I thought this looked familiar! I remember falling in love with it on Toonami ages ago! I never knew the name until now! Thank you for reminding me about this classic! I miss it! 💗
It's also funny how Urusei Yatsura had its latest release in 2022 btw, as if somebody realized 'hey, the people who watch this as kids are now grown up and possibly have money to burn'

Well... yeah... kinda... 😑

Though I guess that title *should* go to Lum, but Ryoko was my first.
Also reminding me that I need to watch Dirty Pair.

(the art is, as usual, beautiful)
(Nah, there's good stuff today too. But I'll take cel-based anime over computer stuff any day.)
I may be a bit of a fan now.-
They made some amazing hifi equipment and single-handedly kept laserdisc alive
Evangelion too but that doesn't count
like, literally picking up classic manga just to give them a more faithful adaptation, it's a little crazy
