I wonder if there's any psychology about the type of soothing background noise type of youtube videos you watch
like, anything that destroys something else stresses me out, but if it's building or cleaning or repairing, that's the good stuff. is that weird

it’s actually related to memory & how sounds formulate your memories & emotions.
I can do wax seal ppl but my eyes are too heavy to watch. Wood soup also has appeal.
I can really wind down, apparently, with a 2 hour video about lost media, 80% Backyardigans fanwiki drama. For when brain needs to chew on information to get sleepy.
I hate videos that mess up perfectly good things. They feels wasteful a and wrong, which, objectively is often not true? But the brain wants what the brain wants.
My go-to zone outs are grooming and healing of animals, and cleaning/restoration of objects <3
Give me someone silently doing wood work though and I'm set.
But the algo thinks I'm REALLY into slime even though I've never once watched a slime video intentionally.
Back when I used to beat CN, I played Fish Center a lot, then a co-worker introduced me to marble racing…in case either of you are looking to break up the algorithm.

Yes, the building stuff is soothing. Like a sense of renewal. 🙂
