The one gripe I have with this app is that I canโt read attachments easily because I canโt just turn my phone sideways to see it in landscape view. Why?
Threads has been awful for awhile now. Not as toxic as Twitter but since June my feed was mostly Biden/Harris bashing and sane washing of the other guy.
Curious, why? I am on both and trying to figure out the Threads exodus. Totally get why we all left Twitter long ago and hoping Threads is not a repeat of that hellsite.
I liked Threads at first. Then when they made it where folks have to opt in to see "political content," such as people existing as themselves, my posts got strangled (2.9k followers, generally under 300 views) because I had the gall to talk about politics during am election.
They seem to love getting reports about racist/sexist/bigoted stuff so they can say there's nothing they can do about it.
Some of Elon's sewage has started to trickle over there and meta, true to form, is cracking down on people who confront it while leaving up the hate speech.
I would probably be using Threads exclusively if the interface was like Bluesky, which is basically Twitter. More accounts I follow are active there, and the blue check means something! I hope either they improve their UI (especially Web) or Bluesky gets more active
Threads does nothing but inhibit political discourse and promotes porn. Zuck isnโt a step up from Elon anyway. I got sick of the are you sure you want to post this question popping up!
I haven't tried threads but am on Post, which I never got into; and Spoutible. It's alright, but this seems more familiar and without the bots. For now anyways.
Last week (before & after election results), there was an outpouring of love and support from women around the globe on Threads but I'm ready to move on and find my sisterhood and democracy defenders here.
Agree. I didn't have Twitter so I'm a Threads refugee. They shadow banned me when I asked people about my mail in ballot. PA is having some issues with curing ballots. But threads must've saw danger in that ๐ all of meta sucks
Deleted X the day after the election and joined Threads late last week. Just joined Bluesky tonight and Iโm liking what I see. ๐๐ป Canโt handle watching MSNBC anymore. Or any news really.
Had high hopes for threads, but them actively trying to limit news and political discussions is bad, IMO. Let the community create the desires for the platform organically. Just moderate it fairly, and don't allow hate to run rampant.
I've been on Threads since July '23 and it's becoming unusable. Instagram influencers copying each other posts, obvious engagement bait, and throttled post. My account seems to have been shaddowbaned after posting Harris GOTV content.
I deactivated Twitter a few days ago. I had been trying to sign in for a month and had no luck until X Support got me in. I was using my real name as a username and it was freaking me out. So I changed the username, locked the account and deactivated. What a sense of relief.
Its an existential crisis, because so many millions around the world have an instagram, and therefore have a threads account. I was in the beta group of facebook, so, Im 20yrs in with a meta algo. Ppl have to want to come here, it may get bigger in time, but it will be slow.

Gonna be a while before I stop feeling like a deep cover agent in a land of Fascists, bigots and idiots, where I'm in trouble for simply thinking

Has Threads done anything to improve? Is meta serious about it?

This place is great!

I forget Iโm not on Twitter while Iโm here until I suddenly realize thereโs no hate .
Threads makes me want to sew. And Iโm no seamstress.
(I also like Spoutible.) But, Bluesky is really working for me right now.
