I would submit that it is not stupidity. Such is a contribution to the narrative being fed to the public on right wing media. Keep them angry at the left, so that they don't look too closely at what the politicians on the right are really doing.

Republicans are stoking fear and spreading falsehoods. There's got to be an underlying reason that they're parroting conspiracy over drones all of a sudden. They want us to believe that every light in the night sky is a mysterious drone, be it a plane, planet, or star. Why?
They are pandering to conspiracy theorist voters. It’s actually quite smart. Almost everything Republicans say or do is optics and messaging designed to keep all of their voting blocs under the Republican tent.

They are stupid but they know their voters are as stupid as any in history and any civilization (used loosely) with these kinds of inhabitants has always failed in due time. You can throw out anything and these mentally deficient voids will believe it. They will run this country into the ground.
We have to stop asking these kinds of stupid questions ourselves. Our representatives are some of the most well informed and supported legislators in the world.
Instead, just point out their hypocrisy and the fact that they know better.

I was reminded yesterday that all of Elmo’s money is tied to stocks and crypto. That his liquid assets are maybe in the millions, but his projected worth is based on the imaginary stock market and crypto. That money isn’t guaranteed, so I’m not really acknowledging the richest man thing anymore.
Is this a real question? We already know the answer to that and it's been on display for years. It's going to be a self fulfilling prophecy of incompetence, rule breaking and disaster. Let's hope there's something to salvage at the end.
