Democrats should defend Trans people because it’s the right thing to do.

2026/2028 we’re probably running against Trumpflation and whatever horrors RFK will unleash anyway. Why spend 6 months on what happened in 2024?

Also this is a very winnable issue. There may be quibbles about school sports but on the whole, I believe the American people will eventually accept trans people for who they are, the same way we did with gay marriage

It is also a fallacy to think that if Trans people are thrown under the bus that the rest of us will be safe. We won’t.

The reason to protect our Trans brothers and sisters is because it’s right. But also understanding the practical realities isn’t irrelevant.

Learn from the gay marriage fight: press forward every day, show that trans people are just like everyone else, and understand that the better ot goes, the harder the backlash. Dumping them overboard is not an option if we want to stand for anything.

I think it depends on if you and the dragon have a potential to form a whimsical bond leading to growth and self discovery for the both of you, though, even if the journey takes you through difficult places and tests the truth of your friendship. Especially if it happens to be the last of its kind
