Now that I see all the Russian propaganda, the conservative propaganda; the overt racism, xenophobia, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, pro-genocide, etc. on Twitter (X) is clear what were their opinions.
It's not conservative opinions themselves. It's that they always use bad faith arguments like straw men, out of context quotes or just wholesale making shit up. How can you have a debate about abortion with a person who says providers kill recently born babies and call it late term abortion?
Being aware of "I'm being silenced for my opinion" implies that the speaker is not being silenced for it. Even more confirmation of freedom of speech is memes repeating the opinion in an oppositional way. There is typically no response to this criticism other than reiterating the initial opinion.
I dunno... having seen how often the land they choose to designate as park land turns out to be a thriving minority community that they want to bulldoze away, I'm not sure they can even be trusted with THAT right.
There's a hell of a lot that isn't taught anywhere that should be. I just try to acknowledge that this country (in addition to every country/state ever) is rooted in the genocide and the forced deportation of the land's original inhabitants. History happened, I just don't want to repeat it.
I agree wholeheartedly, and it's frustrating that even something that appears on its surface to be an unambiguous positive (e.g. designating park land) has a long history of being weaponized in racist ways.
