This is guaranteed at least a temporary injunction, but this is absolutely unacceptable and it shouldn’t have to come to lawsuit to get the damn government to honor its contracts.
Fuck the TSA, but also. Union busting and privatization of government into the hands of the rich is bad regardless of whether it's happening to people and organizations that suck and need to be dismantled, because rich people will do it in ways that hurt everyone for profit even more.
"These thugs don't wear their jackboots the right way. We should privatize and deregulate the system with new thugs who will wear their jackboots the right way." - Elon Trump (probably)
that is what existed prior to 9/11 and the airlines hated bearing the cost and responsibility looking for every way possible to spend as little as possible, first things to go will be any advancements in technology and uniformity across the airports
Strike! If the unions cooperate, maybe they can end the DOGE and much of this other illegal nonsense. Striking attracts the attention of the public, and can further expose the nefarious intentions of this administration.
Not sure if it's legal for government workers especially within their field to strike.... though if they are gonna illegally try to dissolve the union, mind as well illegally strike since the social contract of laws seems to no longer matter.
Looking at previous government shutdowns where TSA and FAA workers went without pay for weeks... apparently it's not legal for them to formally strike, but there were unusually large numbers of workers who called in sick.
When commercial airline flights get seriously delayed or cancelled on a widespread scale, Congress - many of whose members depend upon flights to travel between Washington and their home district - start to take notice.
IMHO, i believe hatred and misogyny were always there, and trump made them comfortable in expressing it while painting the "American colors" to his image. Which then makes ppl think of patriotism, unions, and everything america stood for when talking about him.
Makes way for the predictable privatization to pass our tax $ directly to GOP donor friends who will get fat contracts to fill TSA funcrion for this pro-Russia regime in the White House. What could go wrong.
Good, get rid of the TSA and save other countries billions. There hasn't been one toothbrush stabbing or Oxford bomb in 24 yrs of needless airport delays.
Perhaps a way to get rid of TSA and leave it to the airlines to handle security. Hmmm. I’m more likely to drive to Canada and fly from there or better yet vaca in Canada which is such a beautiful country if they will welcome Americans !
So, when tsa employees are hired, it's in the paperwork they sign that they are not permitted to strike. If they strike, they will be fired. Immediately. And under this administration, that means the privatization will be implemented all the quicker.
What alternative is there? They can’t just sit back and watch as Trump dismantles the entire airline industry brick by brick. Trump is very vulnerable right now, he’s spread extremely thin, I say strike while the fire is hot.
It’s clear this regime only cares about billionaires! For billionaires and run by billionaires! Will never understand poor people simping for wealthy people ! But that’s the cognitive dissonance of maga🤦🏽♂️
Make billionaires into the system, right now it get capped at around 176,000 for the year. Billionaires make that shit in like 2 mins during the start of every January 1st, then don’t pay into the system again until the next calendar year! Change the fucking rules so they pay like everyone else!
Is that because they are not your interests? What are they voting for, are those not the interests they are voting for? Why are they voting for those items? Do you know? Wouldn’t it be more helpful to understand why they vote for these policies/interests?
Perhaps it’s time that people’s pay slips show how much tax they pay to the federal government, and how much they pay to the nations billionaires. Until they see the numbers they won’t realise how much it costs them.
Everybody, should log into their SSA account to see the money they have there! They are no entitlements, we worked for that money during our work careers! Not a hard concept to
@TSA walkout. Strike. Shut it all down. This has an immediate impact on the safety of American and people worldwide, and you are getting dragged to accept less than you deserve for such a highly stressful skilled level of work ?
Walk. Out.
It's well documented that Trump often failed to honor contracts as a private businessman. Now he's doing it with contracts to which the United States is a party. The "full faith and credit" of the United States is rapidly eroding.
I feel like behind the scenes, Trump is cutting deals with all sorts of cronies to take on the privatization of everything the government does now, but we will pay 5 times for it.
Be a shame if they all called in sick today, tomorrow& Sunday…is it a strike if it’s not called that!? After all…both sides can stretch the law. Privatization takes time. Don’t give it to them. Call their bluff today. Then get it in law that they can’t privatize it before you go back.
"Project 2025 was the conservative governing blueprint that Trump insisted during the 2024 campaign was not part of his agenda. Project 2025 calls for immediately ending the TSA union and eventually privatizing the entire agency."
Tomorrow it will be reinstated again. Every day a new random order will be promulgated. Soon we will be at war with Eastasia. My chocolate ration is fine. Shoes have been made in huge quantities. Project 1984 at work.
They want to make everything private so they can squeeze every damn dime out of Americans. Lost 60% of which already struggle by living paycheck to paycheck. Fuck all these guys!!!
The Mandate pledges to “prioritize the economic prosperity of ordinary Americans” and pry influence away from “America’s corporate and political elites.” The funding comes from the upper echelons of the billionaire class. Project 2025 — Bradley, Coors, Koch, Scaife, Seid, & Uihlein.
What do you mean security is far better there?
Safer? Have we experienced tsa failures causing safety issues?
Or better means easier to navigate, quicker, less hassle?
Genuinely curious.
Okay, so, here are the points:
1. The airports have an incentive to keep security lines short, but are still expected to keep people safe. This results in improved infrastructure and design. For example, Heathrow, currently #5 in the world for passenger travel volume (Atlanta is first) has
a system for distributing trays where you take the tray from a conveyor belt before the checkpoint, put your stuff in it, then put it back on the conveyor belt before you leave. They *never* run out of trays and it's very slightly faster than any system I've seen in the U.S., with no security
compromise. It's just so much easier. Not necessarily *faster*, but easier. And LHR is known for being BAD by European standards.
2. If you have a problem, you can actually file a complaint to the airport and feel as if you've been listened to.
3. They're almost always way more polite.
(Note that if TSA do strike then it will likely be a day here, a day there, rather than a prolonged outage. Unfortunately, anything they do will likely result in union busting).
It is illegal for federal workers to strike. There was a law passed against them decades ago. It's part of why they are unusually helpless to fight back in these situations
Federal workers do not and are fired on the spot without recourse if they do.
It's one of the realities of working a federal job people outside don't understand or know about, similar to, but not quite like the military inability to go on general strike.

Private entities can circumvent civil rights in ways that if done by gov't, its employees & institutions, wld be Uncomstituional. This is a further reason, besides enrichment, that Republicans want to privatize so many service sectors.
Capitalism only wants capital and capitalists/their functionaries to travel freely, they won't have to worry about the constitution as a private entity.
No family visits in U.S., and won't take any flights originating or landing in the U.S.
Our next vacation will be within Canada or direct flights to Mexico. The current U.S. administration has no 💩s to give for safety in air travel.
A lot of people were asking how this fascist regime will contend with various union contracts between unions and agencies. I guess they didn't believe that our fascist regime could just unilaterally get rid of union representation. Don't need to worry about the contract if the union does not exist

I fully believe that Walker was the test to see if people would accept this kind of shit.
What the TSA UNION PRESIDENT should say.
Finding Out Phase is here
Feeling less safe in America every day.

It's clear they don't care about their workers at all
the amount of our taxes that come back to us is a piddly fraction of what weve been putting in.
Go away.
they are security theater that prevents no crime, and does not need to exist. are you all too young to remember pre 9-11?
Walk. Out.

Why would controlling TSA matter?
Did you know 🤔
1. If you buy ✈️ ticket online, the privacy agreement states then can search your Entire Digital footprint
2. You do NOT have
4th Amendment protections in any US 🇺🇸 Airport

This is illegal. TSA staff are already not treated well. A TSA strike would ground all planes in the U.S.
However!
In the U.K., airports are responsible for the security.
The security there is far *better* than here.
This is one place I'm not sure

They *can* refuse an unlawful order.
(We've had a shortage ever since).
They strike, they will just fire them all and replace them. It won't help.
Believe me, I wish they could. A few one day strikes
I wonder if work to rule is also illegal.
Obviously their union should also be suing.
It's why feds normally stay out of politics in exchange for being left alone to do thier jobs.
You cannot strike, if you do its a felony, and if you do you are disbarred from any federal employment forever.

If there's no agreement then TSA can go on strike. That should give the air traffic controllers a break.

TSA should strike. Americans should support them for their own safety.

Has TSA EVER stopped anything? A quick google search says no.
I have no doubt this will be *the* most litigated "administration" ever, if it's not already.
