This cold snap has laundry at all time high levels. So many layers. A question for my folks living up north, is this common or are y’all riding out the same hoodie for like 5 days?

Also, I have a big carhart hoodie and coat combo - the construction worker style - that’s super warm and limits the layers I need underneath… unless it’s like -10 or below. Good outer layers cut down need for extra layers underneath.
As a 25 year old single male who lives by himself (so take this with a grain of salt), my rule of thumb with hoodies (and most pants) is if it doesn't smell or have any stains I don't really wash it.
Base layers get washed much more frequently (1-2 days). Mid layers a little less frequently, outer layers can theoretically go weeks, esp if it’s VERY cold.
I generally keep the same one around for a couple days if it’s needed for around the house or errands. If I wear one to work it goes into the laundry that day.
Canadian here, and while I can't speak for everyone north of the border, I'm definitely riding out the same hoodie for about a week BUT it's only being worn as a base layer when I'm out doing errands, not all day every day
Situational hoodies and sweats spread out laundry needs. I basically have a dog walking/errands set, a wfh set, and a hanging around the toddler set. Heavy socks last 1 wear each, and long underwear is saved for going outside
Depends on what I’m doing. Like today it’s 16° so I’ll have fleece or merino wool leggings on, a tank top under a hoodie, and maybe a warm headband for my ears. All that gets washed after 1-2 cycles. If I need my base layer, that gets washed every time, as do wool socks if I need those
Also I’m sure you already know this but the key is stopping heat before it leaves the body so always having a beanie/toque on, gloves, warm socks. Always easier to strip layers if you’re warm. Wool/synthetic base layer, cotton mid-layer, waterproof outer layer

single shirt? exposed to body (gross)
shirt with hoodie? shirt exposed to body (gross), hoodie good unless visible stains (or invisible stink stains)
after that it’s like a pair of jeans
does it smell?
if not, you’re good

Tulane hoodie gets washed more often because I wear it more often.
