When I interviewed him, Robinson explained that he screwed up filming one scene: the one where Robert Redford is slow-walking across the office. “The camera should have been stationary so you could really feel the slowness, instead it moved with him.” Gives you a sense of how much care he took.

THe funniest parts of the interview (For me) were when I was like wow how’d you get this made and of course he was coming off field of dreams so he could do whatever he wanted and everyone wanted to be in it!

I think Robinson communicates it very well! But yeah, the whole picture has a kind of rigorous breeziness, the rarity of which indicates how rigorous it really is.

The quiet mutual affection that Redford and Kingsley have in their confrontation, the way Kingsley’s character immediately twigs to their plan using Toblowsky’s character, the actual hacker lore Easter eggs… god I love that movie

I love the way it portrays idealism curdling into something sinister, when Utopianism becomes megalomaniacal. And somehow within a light comic thriller.
