This is so charming and lovely. Perfect Friday content and a good thing to share with those who may have been led, by cynical demagogues, to believe that multiculturalism has made London some sort of dystopian hell. ~AA

Big film, three words, small Tom, and everybody shouts "Edge of Tomorrow"
“Possibly the most versatile performer (of charades) was Lionel Blair, & no one will ever forget the occasion he was given A Town Like Alice, when he chose to do a silent impression of the author. Such was the performance, Una Stubbs gasped in amazement when she saw Neville Shute in Lionel's face.”
And a lovely person. When Humph was ill in hospital towards his end, Iain solicited as many emails from the fans as he could to lift his spirits. About 2 years after H died I got a reply from Iain thanking me for my message. He had methodically worked through every one to send a personal thankyou.
Although it's still good, the sort of 1940/50's humour, when comedians really weren't allowed to make those sort of jokes outside of innuendo in a live performance let alone on air, was a speciality that Humphrey brought to the show tbh
I started listening when I was a kid when I just loved the idea of a group of old men being ridiculous. Barry Cryer’s parting message - never stop being silly - are words to live by.
I'm from Brazil. If you go to the São Paulo subway, it is lovely, nice people, all normal and happy : )
Most of São Paulo is like those in developed countries (when they were good).
But nobody blinks an eye when they hear about our crime rate and that favelas are a no-go zone.
10+ years ago there was a week of very heavy snow in Dublin. Leaving the pub one night, we walked into the middle of an epic snowball fight between people smoking outside, and the guys in the chinese restaurant across the street 😅
Is this the vape for getting off Twitter's Capstan Full Strength? - A bit of 1950s social history there. Actually, this isn't a vape - it's the exhilarating breeze on a Lakeland peak.

Truly heartwarming - and another confirmation that train travel is much more constructive as a means of transport for human society, compared to the deadly destructive car culture.

The players decide on the film ‘The Hangover’. The other side gets it in about 5 seconds.
Everyone laughs and congratulates each other.
