I've been contemplating it, but haven't quite reached a decision yet. My online presence has been mostly based on different spellings/variations of my middle name for a while now (over a decade). Dropping the legal first name and shifting the rest could be nice.

Jack, because my legal name is John, and it's goddamn annoying to deal with. My display name at work is John, but if I introduce myself as Jack, and people go looking for me later, they might not be able to find me.

I would remove my first name and my dad's surname. I mostly go by my second name and my mum's surname, since I don't have any sort of relationship with my dad's side of the family.

I don’t think I would change my name. It’s taken many years for me to love who I am and part of the privilege of being CIS is being comfortable with my many aspects of self. Likewise leading I have big the ability to change what I can and accept what I can’t is part of that privilege.

The process is mostly that easy in Finland for your first name change. (So much so there have been news because someone did it drunk and then got regrets.)

But haven’t felt the need to change it. Occasionally I’ve wanted a work alias but no good idea for that either

I like the name Lowell, "young wolf", I've always loved wolves and they are one of the symbols of my region
That said, my name is fine: short, easy, has a nice meaning, and it was fun not to correct non-italians on the internet who got my pronouns wrong before Disney named a movie after it (Luca)

I don't think that is possible without becoming famous enough that you are just known by your first name.
I can't say my name to Americans without being misheard. I doubt changing it would help.

I would delete mine. It’s quite common so I’ve gone by my last name with my friends for almost 30 years. Society (technology) relies on having two names.

It would be a non-Unicode symbol, but it would still be pronounced “James” and everyone would know that just by looking at it.
