Genuinely insane that a major newsroom isn't running a live post today trying to verify what is and what isn't being impacted by the federal funding freeze. Embarrassing how bad the media response is to this.

Based on the frantic questions I've googled recently — "how do executive orders works," "can gay marriage be repealed," "what is the Office of Personnel Management," "do food stamps still work," — only to find nothing from media outlets, I'm ready to say the mainstream media is in serious trouble.

Have staff posting on social media and a website for daily LIE Lists slap down. This is not Hard- it is beyond stupid !! this is not up and running TODAY.
This is how we got here. We have no independent media. They don’t serve the citizenry, informing the public as their position as the Fourth Estate dictates they should.
They are stenographers stoking outrage & hate in R vs D he said/she saids unwilling to be umpires for truth.

Today, it's everything but also nothing and all but also limited
They are a gathering of talking heads yapping yapping yapping about endless bothsidesing topics.
It’s entertainment. Not news.
Quit watching.
Fox seems to be able to lie to its viewers as well as Newsmax and news nation. They get away with everything. And then we depend on mainstream news & we can’t even get anything. We are definitely on our own.
The Guardian remains the only newspaper worth reading
CNN will have yet another panel to bicker with Scott Jennings' dumb face about whether or not Musk did a nazi salute.
There is no independent Media, only billionaire propaganda now.
2) Google search is working pretty terrible for breaking news on this. Or at least it was for me this morning. A regular google search about the possible impact on Pell Grants turned up 1 news story ... dozens had already been written.
You want the media to doa better job -- GET DEM LEADERS TO TAKE A STAND. Because as long as Dem leaders treat this as unremarkable, the media will too.

New York Times runs a live blog
“Why are they running a live blog when there are other ways to cover this?”
-Medicaid systems have stopped working in some states already
-Meals On Wheels isn't clear, but suspect they're impacted
-SNAP benefits are not impacted
-FAFSA seems like it has been paused
