Yeah, I think conspiring (which is what this is) to overturn election results ahead of the election should be a crime. And I think it falls under the purview of the DOJ combating election threats. I think it’s worth looking into preemptively. Obviously, IANAL, just extremely pissed off.
If Georgia had fair elections, Kamala Harris could win it & Democrats could also flip the legislature & win half the congressional seats.
But thanks to gerrymandering, the GOP is guaranteed to retain majorities, & it's an open question whether outright illegal election theft like this could succeed
I buy your argument if gerrymandering in the state legislature, but the path to “Harris could win the entire state without gerrymandering” isn’t quite clear.
Disparate polling resources, suppression, etc., etc., sure, but those aren’t gerrymandering.
Hey @marcelias.bsky.social … any suggestions for what a rank and file D in a blue state could do to help combat this? What are top Ds doing/should do about it?
Just an FYI: The Harris/Walz campaign has double the attorneys Biden had, ready to take this all on. Marc E. Elias has been added to the roster and he is well aware of the Georgia scheme.

That makes waiting dangerous, yes, absolutely, but so is indicting “pre-crime”.
Indictment happens after the criming, not before.
He CHOOSES not to.
Stolen elections are a bipartisan effort.
I want to see his head pop when he loses Alaska via ranked choice voting.

I suspect it will be overwhelmingly fucking obvious, since it's 45s only real chance to avoid jail time.
