Jesus. This is too damn true. Something that helps me is to not use the "New" teams. It's buggy and useless. "New Outlook" doesn't even do the basic task of giving you notifications when you tell it to. It's a PoS. And I don't mean "Point of Sale."
I was supposed to get to keep my university email address for a year after my graduation… but they switched to Outlook and I haven’t been able to log in 🙃
Every time they update Outlook, I want to scream. When they decide to move something as simple as the dang "send" button on an email, its a sure sign some damn developer has too much time on their hands.
I know it will be forced on me eventually at work, and I'm dreading it. I'm still pissed that the recent Teams upgrade disappeared my contact list so now I have to search a directory for new conversations. So stupid.
The heavy lifting of both Teams and Zoom is done by a protocol called WebRTC. It is built into every computer, device, and browser you already own. MS and BD are just adding a thin layer of an interface over it.
Anyone could build their own version of these tools if they wanted to in a weekend.
LMFAOOOO. Sending this to the IT guy (whom I actually quite like, we’re friends) I used to work with because we would argue about how he was trying to switch us to MS Teams and I kept saying ’DON’T YOU DARE, I HEAR IT’S TRASH’
I use Teams all day long with people on multiple continents and seldom have problems with it. After reading these comments I am wondering what I am doing wrong.
They're organized almost the same way. Except Slack almost always functions and Teams works about half the time, requires you to authenticate and update constantly, and is awful to look at.
Okay, the bill doesn't ban TikTok. It calls for the Chinese government to divest its ownership stake. It's a technicality, but it means that it's not going to get 'banned'. Some fucking tech bro billionaire will probably land that fish.
Well, yes and no. The bill will force a sale or ELSE ban it. As in if they don't agree to sell, then, ban. And the CCP has already come out and said they will not allow a sale.
But the fact the Chinese government has directly stated they will not sell also kinda tells you they're very involved.

Except now it will sporadically send and receive messages... whenever it feels like it? Hours later? Out of order? Eventually?
I hate it ALL.
I have some managers who swear its improved their processes, but I don't believe them.
That MS thought to set up an auto-prompt asking for feedback from people who go back, suggests they knew it wasn't going to be popular.
Everyone I work with hates it, every I know hates it. And apparently, everyone here hates it.
Wait. That means Musk stans like it. We all know they love their poorly designed stuff.

Yes, I had a spontaneous orgasm the moment I deleted Teams off my phone.
Seriously, though, you all know we’d still be forced to use Linq or Skype, right?

They can both suck ass.
