Champaign goes flat in a few days, just as a large carbonated soft drink does.
But nothing "reusable" unless you are okay with it going flat or having the possibility of "explosion" during transport.
People cannot get a soft drink in their homes on demand (unless they have Soda Stream I guess), so they buy bottles and cans instead of going to a shop with a fountain?
It's pretty simple, we're a blight.
If you want the solution, it's to drink only water from a stone or wood vessel, and fresh fruit juice and compost the remnants.
Soft drinks aren't green unless you sip Onsen.
