Not the main point, but Musk's AI (xAI/Grok) is grossly inferior to its leading competitors. I tried it against Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, MS Copilot, etc. Grok/xAI was quite clueless. I used it for coidng and STEM research for the most part.

Several sources I have in AI safety report that NIST's layoffs do include members of the AI Safety Institute. They were supposed to work with AI Safety Institutes in other countries. So, we fall behind and get more insecure all at the same time. Weeee. AxiosPro also has a report on this.
