TNG season 5 (an ep with dinner). Person of interest (just got to season 4, Emmerson is wonderful. We don’t talk about the wooden bigot). New ep of The Rookie (though Nolan’s violence goal was not a good idea for cops).
Reading Meddling Kids.
And wrote/ran this month’s d&d game (a ghost story).
On Freedom by Timothy Snyder and Dans les brumes de Capelans by Olivier Norek. (Former police officer now writer. You might have met him at Quais du Polar)
It, Edenville, and just started watching Coffee Table. I'm enjoying it so far, and as someone who grew up in Spain, it's fun hearing the familiar "th" Spanish. 😄
Paola Ramos' "Defectors: The Rise of the Latino Far Right and What It Means for America." Quite a brave, illuminating work of reportage and analysis; a book I keep recommending to my white liberal and progressive acquaintances who keep wailing "Why? Whyyyyy did Latinos vote for him?"
Sara Gran’s CLAIRE DE WITT & THE CITY OF THE DEAD + watching the Martha Stewart documentary, finally. & I’ve got SGJ’s THE BUFFALO HUNTER HUNTER on the Libby waitlist
Just finished The Butcher of the Forest by Premee Mohamed. I’ll probably start Laird Barron’s Not a Speck of Light later today. I’m writing a paper on Nosferatu and just got the Blu-ray, so might rewatch that today as well.
The Para Method by Tiego Forte, How To ADHD by Jessica McCabe, Story Engineering by Larry Brooks, and a fiction book to review that I haven’t decided on yet. May read more of my other 6 books in progress but I’m unsure right now.
Just finished Dead in the Frame (Stephen Spotswood's new Pentecost & Parker mystery) and started Orbital by Samantha Harvey. Watching the final season of Vera and The Disappearance of Miss Scott on PBSs American Masters.
I’m finishing the Broken Earth trilogy by N. K. Jemisin and then watching something completely horrific to blot out the pain. I’m thinking maybe a rewatch of I Saw the Devil
We just finished Twin Peaks: The Return. Tonight we are going to watch Wild at Heart. I’m reading a few books, Infinity Gates by MR Carey. My personal pleasure reading has me working to through The Drive In anthology and The Dark Tower Graphic Novels.
