I wanted to watch the John Wick movies with a friend who is a movie buff. I read that those are supposed to be so good and I did like them but after we saw the 1st one, which I'd already seen, she said I'm not interested in looking at the others Yay
I don't, been meaning to though because it seems up my alley. Definitely worth a look once I'm fucken paid by clients. Anything remotely good on like, Prime or Shitflix that I might have missed?
You should get on Letterboxd, start making a watchlist and then you can choose the streaming services you wish to find films on. You can also find lists on there that you can ask to differentiate between different streaming services. Here is my watchlist, which I am asking to find films on Shudder
I recall being recommended Bait by someone on Twitter and I really liked it. When I came back to tell them so they bullied me for having the temerity to speak to them? Really weird experience
I have a fairly diverse selection and a fun game I enjoy playing like some sort of weirdo is pushing slightly off-kilter stuff that's kinda adjacent to what I know friends like but isn't anything they would know or have explored.
It's like a science experiment but with more booty shaking.
That was my job in university. We got to rent five free each week and then make loads of recommendations. Believe it or not, video stores are going strong in Japan, but nobody talks to me 🤣
I watched Thelma this year off a friends recommendation and loved it so much that I recommended it to someone else who then also loved it. Getting both ends of that dopamine hit was crazy. Sharing movies is incredible
Thelma was good. I reviewed it for the Chicago Crusader. I was most interested because the director’s grandmother was inspiration for the film, and it was Richard Roundtree’s last film.
Thelma was adorable wasn't it. I wasn't in the love camp but I can absolutely see why people do. And yep! It's especially satisfying when you recommend a film you've not heard much about and before long loads of your mutuals are chatting about it. Red Rooms and Lowlifes are filed under that for me
My husband was never a horror movies person, so he's been getting into it via me. I LOVE watching him see this shit for the first time 😊 I got to see his honest reaction to the end of Saw and Scream. It was like the first time again 🖤🦇
I would be so incredibly happy to see someone watch the Saw ending blind! I am jealous of anyone who gets to experience that. I remember showing a friend From Dusk till Dawn and they had no idea about the mid way twist lol what a delight
Yesss! Dust till Dawn was amazing and deserves many multipleplay throughs! And hopefully you can rope an unknowing particpant to experience the Saw twist!
It's so much pressure recommending a film. There are fewer things more crushing than recommending to someone a film you hold in high regard and consider to be a masterpiece of the artform to someone, only for them to say - "well, it was okay I guess".

Books, music, movies, real cartoons.
Good feeling.
When you're out DJing and someone walks up and similarly needs to know what it is.

Goosebumps.
