My bil got some live ones in the shell for Xmas. We didn’t know how to shuck them. 2 minutes of youtube training & we were eating like kings. Pro tip: use a towel or get them gloves.
This tracks considering both are filled with pathogenic microorganisms, should be generally avoided in months without the letter “R” (May to August) and are safer if cooked before experiencing.
