A long time ago, I used to believe in the lies about the Palestinians being a bunch of terrorists, never realising they were and still are fighting for their homeland, much like how our ancestors fought for ours.
Heeeeyyyyy!! Finally!! I keep coming over to check if you're here yet. Contrary to the non-stop American-funded propaganda we're very welcome here. You're gonna love it. I'm so happy for you!
Iirc, the image was originally in a 1980s ad for the national phone company. They decided that, on Christmas Day, you could make international calls for the price of local. Cue everyone in Ireland ringing everyone they knew abroad. Hugely popular, and these phones were made irl to catch the mood
I saw one on a TV set once but the prop master wouldn't sell it to me...a couple of years later he calls me out of the blue with directions to a thrift store where he's seen one. You've never seen anybody hail a cab faster 😅 I'm currently trying to fix the ringer on mine
Hello, I am Waseem. We are in a temporary war truce and we are living in the most difficult times because our house was destroyed by the occupation and we are now in the street and our tent is torn, but the weather conditions are rainy. Please donate to us 🫂
About a week ago I had a taxi that was driven by a Muslim guy. He picked up I was from n.ireland and awarded gushing about how he and his fellow Muslims love Ireland. I hope he's doing well.
lol thank you! I've been here 48 hours and already met more nice people than in 30 years of Los Angeles. If I don't run into somebody rude soon I'm going to start doubting that this is a real place
You are very welcome!! Ireland has its problems to say the least, but after 18 years away myself having moved back home over 2 years ago, I appreciate the people here, especially during this time. There is a decency here still that missed - I feel sane here.
Oh and look up the @mothersagainstg.bsky.social Mothers Against Genocide (not just for mothers) movement here if you haven't already - an unstoppable tour de force doing their bit fighting daily for justice and freedom for Palestine.
