Hospitals that can afford Super Bowl ads shouldn’t be sending their patients to collections

So what do my HCW friends think about NYU Langone spending millions of dollars in the Super Bowl for an ad instead of say paying more to their workers or buy new equipment?
Good use of resources? 🤔

Back in the day at Rush, I was strong armed into doing a local news segment, and I was mortified.
It’s always about the P for him.
Only took 5 hours of phone calls to get them to take pity on me and charge zero dollars. How nice of them!
How much do they get for research from the NIH? How much from Medicare Medicaid?
Took only a second.

🏈Bought 29K tons of produce and vegetable oil from American farmers to feed people, reducing mass migration https://youtu.be/PqUESHfuO_8 #saveforeignaid
Keep in mind, those anti USAID were not merely commercials.
They were tools of political, social, and cultural propaganda targeting a specific core audience to promote nationalism...and from what I have gathered, they worked.
It benefits others also, but making other countries safe and habitable means less migration to the US.
The issue is that the average Trumper, who also votes and has political opinions, does not.
Those ads that Elon made, the objective was to push a false narrative to MAGA and it worked, which is bad.
With that, what I think is happening here is NYU Langone is shifting to compete with New York -Presbyterian and Mount Sinai for that pot of gold.
Honestly, I thought SC was above all this - until this past week. Good luck to you, friend.
No investment or philanthropy. Just greed. I agree, Doctor, I agree.
How many minutes of OR time is that now??? 🤔
Those that green lighted this ad are looking at this as a financial investment for the hospital.
The same way how they look at the development of their International Patient Services team is an investment.
The powers that be, want to create an even greater pay to play system for everything.
Private equity and finance industry is buying up healthcare like everything else...which leads to this.
This is not an ad targeting the typical average patient.
This is meant for those with substantial means and considerable resources.
