If COVID-19 had only been a childhood disease and the thousand or so kids who died and tens of thousands who were hospitalized had not be drowned out by the adult deaths then our continued perspective of the disease would be different. The adult deaths diluted the pediatric impact

Pretty much. None of the more dramatic predictions about LC have come anywhere near to being true, while it can be devastating to sufferers the disease is barely detectable at a population level (i.e. no surges in all of the many things that people believe it causes).

Worse, they are now embracing quacks, frauds, grifters, and anonymous accounts peddling pseudoscience to grasp at anything to rationalize their views.

They became the pseudoscience-driven anti-vaxxers they so despised. It was sad to watch. I wish I could say there's a moral to the story.
