I loved the soundtrack and combat system, got confused about the Big Trouble in Little Chinatown branch of the story, only because I didn't watch it until college and getting into a gunfight with a random dragon was strange for a game called True Crime

As I understand it, Sleeping Dogs was going to be much bigger in scope, with your status as a cop able to affected the world with extortion or protection. I’m sure that was when it was still in development as a True Crime game.

I picked it up on GameCube and had so much fun with it. Most fondest memory is engaging in combat to Taproot’s Poem. The story was bonkers and takes a wild left turn in a fun way!

Oh, HELL YEAH. I remember this game has pretty good hand-to-hand combat. Its spiritual successor, Sleeping Dogs, also has brilliant combat. I highly recommend both series of games.

...there's also a True Crime sequel set in NYC. I liked it, but apparently it's divisive?

It was a damn good game,but i think the thing that stands out to me was the gamecube port (i don’t know about the other consoles) had a wicked memory leak. If you played around in the world for too long you risked the game turning into a frame every five minute slideshow.
