It took 5 years to get my chronic pain diagnosed. Threatened to complain to my local NHS trust. Referred to a pain clinic within a month. First time I'd heard the term "pain clinic" in 5 years of GP visits plus ENT and neurology appointments. FFS.

Took me 30 years. I only managed to get a referral to the pain clinic despite years of begging after getting Long Covid and the LC clinic writing to my GP to insist they refer me. 5 minutes into the pain clinic appointment I had a fibromyalgia diagnosis

My rheumatologist of 25 years just retired. I loved that doctor he didn't treat me like "it was all in my head".
When he was looking for a new doctor for me he said " Dr's don't like difficult cases".
Why go into rheumatology if you can't handle difficult? it is the definition of difficult.

Yeah- I had a friend from out of state come w me one time, and her jaw hit the floor- lol!

She said she was legitimately surprised that the doctor actually /listened/ to me and everything-

Made me more grateful than ever-

1: present your symptoms from the perspective of someone else i.e. “my wife is pestering me to ask you about these symptoms and check it’s not xyz” been proven to help in chronic issues 2. Bring an advocate along! Someone who will say “Hey Dr can you please take them seriously?” Sort of person

My previous was always pleasant and cooperative when my husband was with me, only to tell me I had a mental health issue when we were alone. Thankfully, I now have a good GP that is very helpful.

What's wild is... everyone says: Dr's don't want to fix you, they just want to make $$ off you. OK, then why is it so hard to get appt, so hard to get tests, so hard to get meds? I'm soooo ready for them to start making money off me, you know? Lol.
