SCOTUS has again thrown lower-court judges under a ginormous bus & rewarded DOJ for defying court orders.

And when it’s inevitably discovered that the administration has made an error the people victimized by this policy will have zero recourse. Worse yet, the administration will ignore all other court rulings to return them to the US.

Few people have the resources to fight any of this, let alone live abroad while the courts determine whether they have to be returned. And this is all assuming they’re not in some gulag hellhole and don’t speak the language.

But it’s not just that there is a high probability that a US citizen will be sent to a foreign country, and likely tortured and killed. It’s also that they’re targeting immigrants who are following the law. This will surely include students whose visas are revoked for a trivial reason.

Aside from the more immediate threat, we really have to recognize the commitment to long term planning. Undermining Congress then undermining the Courts so systematically over the past few decades. Science and journalism are just bonuses.
