Keir Starmer, "My priority — my only priority — is the people of Britain, and what makes them better off"
So why is Labour keeping the UK outside of EU Single Market?
So why is Labour keeping the UK outside of EU Single Market?

Nor trans or gay people.
Nor black or brown people.
Just the normal, white, zionist people who mow down cyclists as a hobby.
#FuckLabour
But not a huge one.
Having a liveable planet?
Being prepared for climate collapse?
Self sufficiency?
Degrowth coupled with redistribution
I could go on…
Why is nothing off the table re: rejoining EU, recouping Covid scam cash, Prosecuting Covid Crooks, Renationalising Croosked water companies etc etc etc
There’s no magic reverse Brexit button & the electorate isn’t prepared to make the compromises required to rejoin
Starmer is as zealous and foolish as Trump.
Rejoining may make sense to many, but it's unrealistic to believe it would be simple.
The EU want Britain to be in the fold.
Trump has told Starmer, stay out of it,or else.
The Starmer haters steadfastly ignore it
The less difficult option is to remove the self-inflicted barriers to trade with our largest and nearest market.

The legal and financial implications are such that it is so much easier for Starmer to turn the other way and say "not in my lifetime".
Early termination of the 25 year operating licences, which are incompatible with EU competition law, would invite an avalanche of compensation claims for loss of profits. As such claims would be referred the ISDS system which bypasses the UK legal system.

Exceptionalism is alive and well!
It would be extremely costly both financially and politically. We must renegotiate the terrible deal and move as close to the EU in terms of regulations and standards as is feasible and open up frictionless trade once again. The economic boon from this, medium term, wins the argument.
*That* would be “for the many, not the few”
If the UK ever finds itself back inside the EU I guarantee the cost of even opening negotiations will be adoption of the Euro & the death of the Pound as your national currency
If the EU is to survive it must break with neoliberalism.

Playing the long game!
Barstud 😡
He's too scared to call a second referendum.
If the people vote for rejoin, he has to negotiate. And he can't negotiate himself out of a wet paper bag.
People aren’t ready yet, & the EU will never let us in while the main opposition would just leave again.
What planet do you live on?
But it would be on their terms.
No longer a discount on membership fee.
Ditch the Pound and adapt the Euro.
Free travel for EU citizens and vice versa.
The last polling I saw said only 34% of the electorate would accept rejoining on that basis.
In addition we’d never get the unanimous vote from member states.
I arrived in the UK after the Brexit referendum.
Starmer has to be able to bring the people with him - not create more division. He’s knows better!
It's just pure cognitive dissonance
Care to pick one you think he broke that isn’t explained by that?
Try harder.
He would do anything for UK...
But he won't do that!
From 24th June 2016 the Brexiteers demanded that law abiding EU Citizens return home. They did.
The EU will peruse the Application.
But it only requires 1 Veto. And that application is void.
🇪🇺🇮🇪
Hungary would be instructed to vote it down by Putin.
Countless lives ruined.
Countless plans and dreams smashed by ending FOM
And how many dead from the consequences?
Grow a fkng pair @uklabour.bsky.social @uklabourparty.bsky.social
When Corbyn became leader something unofficially changed Labour's stance from Pro-remain to Leave at any cost
I thought it was just JC
But Lammy & Starmer both contd it when they didn't need to
Is it Union power, influence or money behind this?
I would have thought that was really obvious!
The problem is if Starmer make a move to rejoin fully and garage become PM it will be a disaster.
Let’s go Norway style first then see..
I do.
Utter arsehole.
America is no longer a trusted ally.
It's clearly in our best interests to #RejoinEU
If they don't change tac then we'll vote tactically to get them OUT and @libdems.org.uk and TheGreenParty IN!

(How is Labour pulling this feigned ignorance off???)
We are all elephant and no more room left.
And as regards a mandate, the Labour leader should've put it in their manifesto and they'd still have walked the GE.
The redlines are a reflection of current reality, not barriers
He's a fucking liar.
He's a slimy twat.
Leaving was a disaster. Rejoining isn't currently a remotely viable option unfortunately.
What exactly are people proposing should happen and how long do they believe it would take to implement?
Weeks? Decades?
🤔🤪
And of course the EU will not take seriously any approach from the UK as long as the Opposition here are EU-phobic
Whatever they say in public
The intended United States of Europe under Brussels needs working on.
A lot.
You don't have an agreement for the EU to even take you back, silly.
There's no such thing as a "do-over",
that was made PERFECTLY CLEAR when you voted for it.
You got divorced..remember? They moved on..
You start at square one, again..hat in hand.
He’ll get a hammering at the GE as a result and then look baffled as though no one saw it coming
He thinks being re-elected let him do more good to UK, maybe.
He saw that mimicking his opponents rhetoric (Tories) he won, and he's doing the same with RUK.
Except, he did not win for that reason.
The small increase in voters is significantly more due to tactical voting than right wing voter choosing Labour.

How should we force them do you think?
Farage would get exactly what he wants, which is a chest-thumping, 'vote Reform - save Brexit!' campaign strategy, aimed

This would be straight out of the SNP's very successful post-2014 playbook, when they harnessed the independence referendum debate's aftermath to brutally crush Labour in Scotland.
A decade later, Labour have still not recovered from it.
