Star Trek fans love to make this argument while overlooking all the ways that Star Trek is also fantasy. The Enterprise is a pocket universe where anything you could ever desire is provided by the ship itself. There are gods and magic, fantasy pets and fantasy races.

Schrödinger puzzles! The most famous was one that ran the day before Election Day 1996 with a clue "Lead story in tomorrow's newspaper (!)" that could be either CLINTON or BOBDOLE.
