Plenty to be concerned about, but the AI fingers always creep me out. The fact that people who prompt for AI images do not care. I see "artists" selling clip art that is clearly AI generated. I have no idea how they just package people with 6 fingers or an extra arm and are like, "this is fine."

I fear that segment is larger than anyone realizes. I saw an old high school acquaintance post a choppy, poorly edited video of Kamala speaking on a loop & slowed down to make her sound drunk. Half of the responses thought it was 100% real, the others said it’s probably true but that video is “AI”.

I do think great art can be made by people who don’t know why they’re doing it and don’t want to be doing it. That’s basically every Miyazaki interview. But I don’t think a computer and a hack behind it can luck themselves into making art while also not caring or understanding what they want to say.

This. So much great art comes from uncertainty and exploration. Pour/splatter art, for example, you never know how the paint will react, and that’s the point, but the intention for that freedom is there. And freedom ≠ random, a lot of thought still goes into colors and measures and methods.
