I hope my friends in Poland have no illusions about this administration. No matter how much you praise them or speak kindly, they will still attack you the moment you have even the slightest disagreement.

In fairness, Europe has allowed themselves to basically become American frontier provinces and now this admin is just openly speaking to them like satraps. Poland seems to have figured this out a few years ago, to their credit, and the rest of Europe is waking up to the reality.
They can only talk that way to you if they’re right though. Replace Starlink and there’s no reason at all to placate Musk. Replace American weapons manufactures (hire their talent as their sales tank) and you can ignore petulant aspiring emperors in Washington.
So here we have an (un)official representative of the Trump Regime speaking this way to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of an ally. Had ANY Democrat ever done this, the GOP would have lost their shit. But this is a normal day in the US now.
Elon uses the R word, insults people he disagrees with, usually about their IQ, belittles world leaders, his mother uses the R word, is always infuriated; Like parent like son.
Pride comes before a fall, my dear Elon Musk.
And you never come up with anything more than insults when you’ve been criticised. Someone like you is supposed to be a genius? 😂
Ukraine's allies are already negotiating with Eutelsat. This means there is at least one alternative to Starlink. 🧵1/2
2/2 Ontario has canceled its $100 million contract with Starlink, Carlos Slim's América Móvil has canceled its contracts with Starlink, and more will follow.
Your Starlink shares will become junk if you keep on standing against the free democratic and equal world.
Musk has made a classic mistake that plutocrats throughout history have made in that he’s confused money, which he’s got a lot of, with power, of which he’s got very little. He’d do well to read a biography of Crassus, or Cicero, both of whom have important lessons about the things money can’t buy.
Cicero, for example, died while frantically attempting to negotiate a bribe with his assassins. They feared their master more than they desired his money. Most of his family and household was killed with him. Crassus was fed molten gold by laughing Parthians after the destruction of his army.
People with power can send A Man with Whom You Cannot Negotiate and that’s the end of the power of money. Thats the fearsome power of the state and Poland is a state whereas Musk is merely a plutocrat.
He has a lot of power because he can turn starlinks off and on. He did it to Ukraine to help russia before. Plus he’s trump’s ally and living in the White House. He has way too much power.
He has no power on his own. He’s borrowing power from the state, via Trump. If Trump said tomorrow “bring me the head of Elon Musk” then his supporters would turn on Musk in a heartbeat. If Trump said “nationalize Starlink” then Musk would lose Starlink that afternoon. Musk is merely rich.
Trying to alpha male a guy who trekked around with the mujahideen, of his own free will. for a few years cuz they were killing Russians. Musk couldn’t even play Squad without hiring someone to do it for him.
There are not. Certain moves were already made e.g. Sikorski was in Asia recently and cooperation with Japan and South Korea is being increased, agreement with Canada about uranium was signed last month etc
Trump, Musk, Vance etc will convince ordinary people in Poland how unreliable USA has become.
musk is slowly destroying his enterprises, he’s mercurial and crazy af, he can’t be trusted, nobody with any sense is going to do business with that clown
Well it’s up to us in Europe to move from words and Twitter exchanges to delivery - if there is no alternative then we must develop one quickly and if there is, stop talking and switch
They know. Radosław Sikorski is wise and is using carefully his words. He knows very well russian history and the new american russian culture. Ukraine needs some more months until alternative solutions are working.
Musk is a small man.
He gets his stature by standing on a pile of money.
When he is gone he will be missed less than Rush Limbaugh.
Pity that no one can speed him on his way.
Occasionally Stamer is still holding out hope that it might turn around, or at least stop getting worse. But there is zero sign of that. Every day it gets worse.
Everyone should be assuming this will get as bad as you can imagine, and plan accordingly.
Not just the deal with Poland but the idea that Musk is quite happy to abuse and extort any of his customers should make anyone with other options reject his businesses.
Maybe he is right? 😂
It wouldn't be the first time Elon has made a mistake in a business model, and the actual cost of Starlink is not covered by its commercial price. Ten million per flight starship, Hyperloop, Tesla Gigafactories, The Boring Company, Twitter—failure upon failure.
No, we don't. At least the currently ruling government doesn't; the former government party is still very much under Trump's thrall. Sikorski is not one to walk back from a fight, don't think he'll bow down to Musk.
We know the US is no longer an ally. We just need to adapt.
At this point, if I were the UA military, I would be expecting Musk to be passing the coordinates of all active Starlink terminals near or forward of the frontline to the Russians, and taking appropriate precautions.
Musk, Trump, and everyone else in this administration want to destroy America and everything good that it stands for. I’m sickened at how they treat some of this country’s best allies.
"You're paying a fraction of the cost" - Musk admits his business model is BS, like when Uber was losing money on every ride and trying to make it up on volume
Elon should learn to keep stum. The race must be on across Europe to decouple from all things American, to never be held to ransom again. Crises are Great spurs for rápid innovation, as the Ukrainians continually remind us.
There's the Stockholm syndrome-driven pis faction, so far up trump's ass that they don't see the light. And the morons will be extremely happy with muskov. The sensible people, even those not 100% aligned with the govt, will react like the Ukrainians reacted to how Zelenskyy was treated.
"And there is no substitute for my Starlink.' Famous last words. Looking forward to seeing Starlink a tiny comms system used only by the US in about one year.
The US's staunchest ally in Europe is being treated like a dog by multiple key members of the Trump administration. "say thank you". "Be quiet". These are the people expected to put their cities at risk in the event of a russian first nuclear strike and then retaliate. This is grim.
Most 12 year olds don't try to double down after having their mom save them from the last time they lied about wanting to fight someone. (For those who don't know, musk's mom went on TV last year to explain why Elon couldn't fight Zuckerberg when he did this similar idiocy and then backed down.)
Let's be honest, OneWeb is the only credible option at this point, and the most advanced one. Telesat will help but priority must be on systems that already exist
Well, just know that for whatever it's worth, Europe sees you as being a country with shared values that's found itself in the same situation as us - caught unprepared for the US's betrayal - and any desire for cooperation with Europe will almost certainly be met positively.
It's even worse than that. The US is used to just doing whatever it feels like, If it wants to bomb someone, if Europe is against it, they're still getting bombed, and probably even still get some European assistance in doing so.
They're not going to like having an independent European superpower.
Someone should gather the leaders of all the countries in Europe in one room and give them an educational beating. And don't let anyone go until they start loving each other to death! If this happens, the US will feel the FAFO effect.
I think most of Europe will unite against us, we have been traipsing around the entire world like we own it for 80 years now, this administration will isolate us just like Russia has done to its people
Thx Poland to front this useless asshole. He have no standing in Europe an should pack his E-Car trash together and close the Gigfactory and leave our continent forever
I am speechless, clearly there is no constraint to their utter arrogance and lack of intelligence. This disrespect hits all countries, regardless of size and economical power. No country is completely self-sufficient everybody needs friends, they too will find it out.
So when others pay for foreign aid, it's "a tiny fraction", but when they look for excuses to eliminate our foreign aid, it's "hard-earned tax dollars"?

He is obviously unstable…
Putin might be older and most of his training is probably just for show, but he'd whip the ever loving fuck out of Elmo the blob
keep it up! ✊

🤡🏰
His sad attempts at being alpha male are going to hit the reinforced concrete wall of reality.
So "small man" is just a projection 🤔
Honestly, the arrogance. The contemptible arrogance. To treat anybody like that, much less a senior representative of a friendly nation.
Where are the Starlink uplinks? Presumably they have to be licensed.
Charming
I wonder if this will « trudeau » Sikorski’s presidential ambitions

I mean, yes, I'm sure Musk *is*, but I wouldn't think they'd want to just *say* it
We know the US is no longer an ally. We just need to adapt.
You would reach more people, when you add a good description into the Alt-text field.
That is pretty easy, especially, when your image just contain text.
This way, you support visually impaired people and everyone else, who rely on a good filled Alt-text.

2. Thank God.
This is the mafioso behavioural mode.
The best way to deal with the is to **not** deal with them.

No substitute? It’s a service that might get shut down for reasons known only to Musk or no reason at all.
They should be excluded from the FAA contract bc of this.
The sound of inevitability.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: He is mentally 12 years old.

Even Peter Zeihan is now recognizing it openly:

Trump has a friend, in Putin.
Again, Secretary of State!
We truly are in a new era. Rubio, unlike Trump, knows history.
Slava Ukraine
Best thing he can do now, is call an election and quietly slip away along with the foreign mercenaries while he still can.
