Same. Opening *one* cupboard & in front: old mermaid logo Starbucks, Obama Yes We Can Oxy '83, Dean & De Luca Bennington, Taylor & Ng Taureau, Zabar's NYC, Moomin Little My, Peet's Arts & Crafts stylized acorns, Hartstone bees. And those aren't the *good* ones..
Apparently, I worked at places that were very mug-intensive. I have tons of them from my workplaces and many more as gifts. I've started giving them away as keepsakes to other folks who love mugs. I mean really. How many mugs does one person need? I have at least a dozen (and I live alone).
Somewhere out there, someone thrifted the mug I bought at Great America in California in 1977 and donated 20 years later. It has the Road Runner on it - has anyone seen it?
Having a very close relationship to the current Six Flags company, I can say can sure the price ld Marriott branding is VERY COOL! Great piece of memorobelia!
Neat! That's from the bay area, about an hour south of me. It traveled quite a ways to end up in your neck of the woods.
The park is now called California's Great America, and unfortunately is set to be closed and turned into housing when their lease runs out in a few years. :(
Yeah, the land was sold off and the new landowner wants to redevelop it. The park's lease runs out in 2028, with an option to extend it for 5 years, but it'll definitely be closed after that. So, there's plenty of time to go, but it'll be a sad day when it closes for good.
This is a really cool piece of local memorabilia because it still has Marriott branding.
Today this is Chicagoland's Six Flags park, though Marriott built an exact copy in Santa Clara, CA now known as California's Great America. Marriott sold the parks not even a decade into operation.
My first memory of the Marriott corporation is the fight to stop them from building a huge hotel on what is now Minnewaska State Park in the 80s and my, now estranged, father being all for the idea of destroying natural beauty.
I'm just barely old enough to vaguely remember going there when it was still Marriott's, otherwise it's always been Six Flags to me.
And those thrift store personalized mugs are awesome. It's like a little glimpse into someone's life story.
But now, Cedar Fair owns CA’s Great America… and CF just merged with Six Flags… so for the first time in nearly 30 years they are again under the same corporate umbrella… however CAGA is slated to close soon… it will be a huge loss for the Bay Area.

It's a sickness.
I think I have one somewhere from a company that makes MRI machines.
It did not came as a set, it was purchased alone. How do I know it was holiday themed and part of a set? it has one graphic
'Ho'
