True, I’ve been a conservative investor choosing to go the mutual fund route thus not putting my eggs in one basket… say for ex. A certain autistic asswipe has much of their wealth in Tesla.. which is down at this writing today by 8.7% in my case I have losses but towards the overall market of 4%
I was attempting to invest my limited transition savings to grow it because people wouldn't donate and at the current rate it's years out, but the past year has fucking sucked between my stepdad forcing me to not participate in the market during the good times, getting literally scammed, and this.
The younger me knowing my career was solid took these negative market adjustments to actual increase my contributions to my 401K… ie buy when the market is cheap and expect a historical rebound… the wildcard here is Trump… who knows what direction he will go and thus how long this downturn will be!

I actually had just turned 59.5 so I moved it out of the stock market in to bonds or something. It will only make another 7% but at least I still have it. My financial advisor thought I was being silly. I am to old to loose it all now.

Not up to me anyway (not really). My investments are all managed by someone I pay to make sure I don't fuck up. But I take your point - generally when stocks plummet you should hold unless you have a good reason not to (please see above post from me re: taking financial advice from me tl;dr: don't)

I read the article admittedly not every word. Did he say anything about shorting on a large scale? I know he said they shorted stocks. But what if that’s a big driver of this sell off. TBH it’s not really that low yet when you look at the charts. It’s like we lost a year.
So another question is if the market only lost about a year’s growth why are peoples 401K’s being hit so hard? If someone has had a 401 k for 30 years this should logically only be a small blip. Everything seems like a scam.

I have had to make up my losses from this 401k scheme 3x in my lifetime. This being the 4th, there is literally no more time left for us. None! We will never recover! FUCK TRUMP AND FUCK YOU IF YOU VOTED FOR HIM! I have literally been in this 491k since is was 19!
