This feels like an strategic mistake for Google.
Wayno is around a year ahead of the competition. Enough to build a true competitor to Uber, who is now destined to retain most value, while waymo’s upside will be capped once other self-driving suppliers have entered…
No thanks. Not only would I never entrust jy life as a passenger in one, I don’t want to be on the road with them either. Driverless cars should be banned across the board.
Why is that any different than trusting it to a stranger? A machine will make a mistake once until (hopefully) it gets fixed. A bad driver will continually run lights until the odds catch up with them.
Yes. And I have actually read accounts of self driving cars licking people down. I don't understand all the mechanics and I'm not interested in being a test case. Others are welcome to volunteer
I would never ride in a driverless car. It cannot possibly account for an unknown factor that only a human can respond. They are dangerous to riders and all vehicles on the road.
Driverless cars will encounter an unknown factor once and then it will be reprogrammed. Going forward all riders and vehicles will benefit from that. Your live drivers better not be checking their phone, distracted by something, or zoning out when they face the same factor.
I predict the over/under for number of incidents this causes during #SXSW at 7, with at least 3 involving scooters. This won’t even include the number of times the cars are abandoned because people will get tired of waiting in all the traffic.
Trump/Musk destroying the United States. Aligning with dictators and turning their back on our strong country allies. How long will the Republican Congress you all voted for let him destroy our country before they impeach this insanity? I will never vote for any Republican again.
