I'm all in on Nintendo Switch 2 and I'll be trying my best to get one ASAP, but I'm a little surprised at how light the first party game lineup is on day one.
Mario Kart World is gonna be absolutely massive and fun but after that there's not a ton of NEW stuff to play at launch.
Thoughts?

MKW,DKB,MP4,HW:AOI looks absolutely great to me!
Waiting 1.5 months for Donkey Kong isn’t too bad IMO!

Reminds me a bit of switch having “only” botw.
GameCube, Zelda upgrades, Deltarune
3rd party ports
People won’t be starving waiting for Bananza, haha
You are right though. Mario Kart won’t be quite the same at BOTW was last time. DK is only a month later though. Not long to wait.
Only one I can think of though. Most launches are lucky to have one big game.
-->
MK World and Welcome Tour.
Not to mention DK Bananza just a month later and all the nice upgraded versions of Switch 1 games
I’m trying to get this preorder in and do NOT need more people inspired to follow suit. 😭😭😭
They can’t even say “coming fall/winter 2025” for Metroid Prime or Kirby, which is SUPER suspicious since not dating them only hurts the launch. MK/DK aside, they not confident enough to commit to any big new
It’s not encouraging.
If they manage to have indies+ a 1st Party game every month or so, I think it will be on par or even better than Switch 1's launch window.
Here's the first 6 months of Nintendo-published Switch 2 titles (plus the eShop only Welcome Tour app). This assumes those last 4 titles all release by November at the latest since that's the 6 month mark.
Switch 2 has: 4 major titles (MKWorld, DK Banaza, Prime 4, Z-A), 4 minor (DragXDrive, Hyrule Warriors, Tour, Air Riders), 4 re-releases (BotW, TotK, Mario Party, Kirby Forogtten)
It is lighter than you’d expect though yeah, feels like they intend for the early adopters to get theirs then for the general audience to pick it up around the holidays
Awesome games, great pace, Game hat looks awesome, 3rd party support already looks way bigger than on Switch 1 at the start, the console had a great showing with awesome specs. Just great fun!!
I hope for you, that it will give you in the future the games you want - I mean that:)
And there was also other new, exclusive games that complimented it like Snipperclips, 1,2 Switch, and Super Bomberman that people played during BotW breaks.
I can't tell ppl how to spend their money.
I for one will not buy a switch 2. Also I refuse to pay 90$ for a single game.
I'll just wait for sales and stick to affordable indie games.
DK Bananza a month later helps, but I do expect at least a banger or two more by the end of the year.
Personally I wait to see what is available after one year.
Not to mention the Switch 2 edition games are also being made.
I'm sure they've learnt thought, right? Right?
I can see it being an issue for some people though.
Honestly, that's my suggestion for everyone. Take some time and save.
