Most people have no idea why we read fiction anymore
This is absolutely true, because the way people who don’t like to read fiction talk about fiction is disturbing lol

When I think we pretty simply read to feel another person's mind, or to be entranced in and experience another world.
Top to bottom, fiction is putting you in someone else’s shoes
Maybe a prior question is who's shoes do we choose to put on?

I’m absolutely an elitist snob, and I won’t say a word about the MCU here, because my thoughts are full of rage and anger lol
What’s wrong is eschewing art for giving people their superhero biyearly dopamine hits

I'm very resilient, but I don't think I could survive without fiction.
To feel, act, react and be alive in this non-existent world that is completely real while reading.
but I was mocked for saying this in 1989, by my fellow graduate students in English and American Literature, so I don’t know how new the tendency is
Writing is fun. Writing allows me to share the things that I care about. Writing is an outlet, a pressure valve for the constantly imaginative.
I don't really understand people who needs a different reason.
