In my country, mushrooming is the national sport .
Whole families are driving to the forest and picking up the mushrooms and later bragging to the neighbors and comparing who find the most π.
Absolutely.
I forgot to mention. We are cooking them , we have so many dishes that we can add to them .Also, we canning them or dried them for winter .
It is healthy and free food , plus a lot of exercise to actually find them
Thank you for the distraction! With everything going wrong in the world, you come along and post β hereβs a nice mushroom β and it makes me laugh, and calms me. β€οΈ
Nah π€ really a mushroom, how cool.. I never knew there were so many different kinds of mushys. With all the crap happening around the world, your photos are a very welcome reminder of what a wonderful world we really have at the moment.. thankyou π»
Gee. Now this is a keeper. It looks like it has an open mouth to taste every little bit of air-born debris. I can imagine that once something ventures into its mouth, it closes shut like the Venus fly trap. Eerie! But as I always end my posts:βThank you for the gift and the uplift.β
We bought a house that had been flooded for a full year. My partner says he thinks he saw one like this in the basement. We didn't take any pictures when it was flooded because it felt too gross to get our phones out, been wondering for the longest time what "super weird mushroom" he saw down there
I found these on the edge of a raised bog amongst Birch and Willow but I believe they grow on most dead/decaying wood on the ground in damp conditions and amongst leaf litter.
Iβm very jealous of your cute, dainty mushroom because I have this knobbly one in my garden. Itβs a little bit shiny, very hard and has been around for ages slowly getting bigger and uglier. If anyone knows what this curiosity is, let me know.

My grandmother used to pick mushrooms for eating, but would warn not to try it myself because you really needed to know them to trust them.
Beautiful color!
Beautiful colors.
= Elf on a shelf! π
It looks like a plastic bowl.
I hear ya, little mushroom. I hear ya.
First time I've ever seen them.
Thanks!
