This is not just a department-level policy. It applies to the cubicles of individual employees. You're now barred from even having a little flag at your desk.

Seems like an easy thing to win a challenge on in court
... except that for any individual person going through that process (disciplined, lawsuit), it would be major PITA
There are lots of other flags that offices will still allow, like the Gadsden flag, the Appeal to Heaven Flag, even the Confederate flag, plus several historical versions of the current flag. All of these rightly should be covered under the same order and should be reported by the proper channels.
The next step is going to be a Don't Say Gay' rule to force queer people back in the closet, and firing people who in any way disclose that they are queer. Just like religious organizations do now. A Christian nationalist government.
I have a family member at an agency in Maryland and they said that they came around to every single desk over a week ago, sterilized the place. No stickers, no flags, no pins, not even the smallest hint. Pretty ugly. This in an environment where people know who the LGBTQ+ employees and allies are...
The pride flag represents sexual liberty and choice and I respect that. Albeit if you don't associate with any sexual identity or feel bothered by the subject, your still forced to engage with by the presence of the LGBTQ+ flag. Its a form of sexual harassment.
Apparently the parking lot has a ban as well not sure how they are going to in force it. Also I support any employee who want to sue for civil right violation. Don't feel like you need to hold back, because it may take away resources from the Vets. Since they don't seem to care about us anyways.
I support all disobeying of unlawful orders. I also support malicious compliance. Banning of all magtards flags/banners and religious groups/icons from the VA. If they want to banned stuff then let's start with all the stuff that isn't suppose to be their in the first place.
Yep, even if it was, I wouldn't comply. I also won't comply with their future bathroom ban either. I will go out of my way to use the bathroom before and after all appointments. I will be wearing a t-shirt that reads "I Fought For Your Right To Hate Me" with bright trans flag on it.
...be nice, bigots are very snowflakey sensitive, their feelings are easily bruised, their eggshell goes crack under the slightest breeze. A little rainbow flag at a desk could cause an aneurysm...
They're already trying to decide if this new rule also applies to things like badge lanyards, ink pens, or file folders. We live in the dumbest timeline.
Unfortunately, that is not a US flag. "The flag of the United States shall have thirteen horizontal stripes, alternate red and white, and a union consisting of white stars on a field of blue." However, the diagram is in black and white, so there is *some* leeway in the definitions of red and blue...
That doesn't add any information not described in the text. We know the stripes are supposed to be red and the field is supposed to be blue. Butbwhere in the US flag code does it define what red and blue *are*? Does it give hex codes?
No, but the rules of a department don't have to be binding law in order to be enforced. They're absolutely going to cite the flag code as to what constitutes an American flag.
Go put a LGBTQ flag on VA grounds — I'd like to see the government try to enforce this. They have already had a case dismissed over various flag-related policies, which they then also lost on appeal. It wasn't about rainbow flags, but rather hanging the US flag upside down.
When I worked at the VA some organizations, I'll call them, would leave religious tracts in the waiting areas. A coworker had religious stuff posted all over her side of our shared office and I was told that was allowable. Religious material is for sale in the canteen. Is this now verboten?
Every year, I set up 3-4 POW/MIA memorial tables around the village, so I'm even okay with the idea of excluding the POW/MIA flag from government flagpoles. Just set up a memorial site elsewhere on the property.
Pride, and other such flags, should likewise have designated locations, too. Why not?

And what they do to Them now, they will do to Us tomorrow.

was ALWAYS a cover for this. It was NEVER about the kids .
If MAGA ever cared about kids they wouldn't be cheering for removing LGBT kids from the National Organization for Missing and Exploited Children.
Trump said either remove LGBT kids, or shut it down.
In heraldry colors (called "tinctures") were indicated by various kinds of black and white hash marks.
Vertical stripes = gules = red
Horizontal stripes = argent = blue

You've got *some* leeway there. Assuming for fantasy purposes a court takes heraldic colors seriously!
Enough to tick off Republicans, which is our common goal, anyway?
From the Wikipedia page above:
I am NOT okay with employees AND their desks being regulated to the point where they're not free to express themselves and show support to others.

My response was to put up nothing: no degrees, no licenses, no awards
People ask why my walls are bare and that gives me an opportunity to explain. To this day, people learn she hates on kindergarteners art
