Judges should stop giving them more time. Allows them to make up facts and arguments that are not true. One way to get real facts is to have them explain immediately. If it is true it wouldn’t be hard to provide proof they were given a choice.

They were absolutely not given a choice. Their access was terminated overnight, and were told their return to the US could not be safely guaranteed if they tried to come back on their own. They are stuck. Some with medical conditions and being told there is no funding for medical evacuations.

It’s bigger than that. USAID is paying for the police and fire services, among other things, in Ukraine. Gutting USAID is a way to screw Ukraine for Putin without having to go through a pro-Ukraine congress.

Marroco is leaving these public servants, who transferred overseas subject to certain conditions, to twist in the wind, yanking away the financial and other protections authorized and required by law. Seriously, you can stay if your child is in school, but you have to find housing and arrange visas?

That is an administrative impossibility for a diplomat; effectively, he is abandoning these workers irresponsibly in violation of the laws and regulations. He is endangering these public servants and their families. People will die and it will be the fault of Marroco and Rubio. This is grotesque.
