Ok. We all know META AI stole our books and stories and articles. We all know it stole the work of our translators. How about our illustrators and cover art? Were those images used to train AI? Serious question.

yes unfortunately. there’ve been some cool resistance movements happening among artists but the main answer is yes these companies stole basically everything they could find online
Artist @kortizart.bsky.social is one of the most vocal anti-AI people I know on here (and there) and I'm sure she has resources for you to read up on their plight.
Yes, 100%. Artists were the canaries in the coalmine. Have been campaigning alongside them for a long time.

Most cover illustrators displayed their work on online portfolios (like Artstation of a personal website), or had covers syndicated through sites like Pinterest.
The website Cara exists as an AI hostile equivalent to artstation, formed after the No AI Artstation protests.
As if pirating on its own wasn't bad enough. This whole thing makes me sick. My books are there along with every single one of my author friends. It seems like none of us were left unscathed. I'm signing on to the class action lawsuit, for all the good it does to undo the damage done.
