Enjoy it. Ours turned one earlier this month and I love this exuberant wild toddler version of him but I also miss being nap trapped by the sweet squishy baby version of him.
Yep, remember that bit well. Have you invested in a good baby wrap. The thing that used to piss us off, is that they know when you're not putting in enough effort. Wrapped to you, but sat down? Sorry, nope, on your feet please.
Oof. My sister insisted that only my mother could handle her for first year of life. Almost a successful strategy for maintaining her status as the baby of the family until I ruined that 4 years later.
It does get easier but parenthood starts at the hardest level.
At 3 weeks that's where we're at too - passes out being held and walking around... Eyes fly open as soon as she's in the bassinet. White nose has been helping a little, but mostly just have her on one arm while I clean until she passes out again.
Been there done that. As a father of four I can attest that you have to pass almost all pfaces before they move out. Everything from baby induced sleep deprivation, slamming doors and Saturday night drives to pick up drunk teenagers.
‘Reactive’ cosleeping per our doc. Lasted awhile. Get sleep however you both can get it. My daughter hated her crib and I could not cope w crying. (She is at a very good college now.)
Same with my wife. I could carry our first son on my right shoulder (but not left) about 30% time. Surprised we are still married after that (18 years ago).
Ours would often cry unless she was rifle carried, those first two months. It doesn't help to hear it in the moment, but it does get easier/different and you will sleep more. (I say having been awake since 0430 my local time, because *someone* had a nightmare)
Yeah I love the sling! My go to present for new parents.
(My first one slept so soundly in the sling, I did hour long lectures and podcasts carrying him 😄 )
My daughter would only nap in the Ergo baby carrier when she was little. Enjoy it while it lasts, before you know it they’re ten years old and sick of you! 😂

(Takes 12-18 months to come back if you do…)

Might just work for falling asleep — I bet you can execute the “very bored voice” with that particular topic perfectly. 😬
(me in 2018 sitting on the bench in the corridor of Holloway Waitrose often drinking the free coffee ☕️)
