A Harvard political scientist studied change movements around the world and found that 3.5 percent of a population taking to the streets can demand redress from a government and achieve political change. That’s 12 million Americans.

I feel like we will never know the true numbers of people taking to the streets unless we are ALL in the same place at the same time which I just don’t see happening. It would be nice, but our country isn’t tiny and it’s not easy or cheap (or safe) to get to DC for a lot of us.
Even that is a stretch for many folks. My state Capitol is a 5-hour drive away.
Yes, I can convene at my City Hall but here again I speak to the impact of seeing the sheer numbers in one place.
We all know these protests are not getting the widespread media attention they deserve.
And who is counting how many people are showing up?
The numbers still aren’t there.
Let’s say each Capitol has 30,000 people (they don’t) - that is 1.5M. That’s a far cry from 12M.
Trump’s got branding down to an art—three word slogans, nonstop outrage, and a cult-like echo chamber. Meanwhile, Democrats hold symposiums on“strategic narrative alignment” and wonder why no one’s listening. Maybe fewer focus groups, more spine, and, here's a shocker—one messenger who can sell it?
April 15, 1967: As many as 400,000 protesters marched from Central Park to the United Nations in New York City, demanding an end to U.S. military involvement in Vietnam, with Martin Luther King Jr. leading the way.
Millions of Americans took to the streets to protest the Vietnam War, with significant demonstrations occurring in cities across the country and culminating in massive marches in Washington, D.C., like the one in November 1969 with 250,000 protesters.
Harvard should also study what percentage of powerful MAGA mouthpieces, and enablers are Ivy League educated. These institutions aren’t creating principled leaders, SCOTUS alone has 5 that made up immunity for appeasement.
I’m not seeing it. Where are the young? Maybe they never learned about Viet Nam. The March on Washington. Where are the activists? I see 30 to 80 year old people at the protest. Zoomers, the ones affected the most for the longest, are absent.
From the information I'm trying to glean from college campuses and communities, I’m still not seeing it. Here and there, yes. Needs to be full throated and quick.
I'm in the mid west. Limited activity at Mich., Mich. St. Northwestern, Notre Dame, Purdue or Indiana.
Some students were hammered over Palestinian protest over a year ago. I understand their fear. It was that way for some in the early 70s.
The depth of dishonor of the current POTUS, VP and their minions has no bottom. They’re a stain on their families, party, communities & the United States🇺🇸. A 3rd term for a convicted felon with a lifetime of dishonor, bankruptcies and failed relationships is against the U.S. Consitution #22Amendment
Me too! There are over 1500 protests scheduled across the US tomorrow. If each one has 1,000 people (many of them are in very small towns), that’s 7.5M. But big cities will easily have 500K each… so how does anyone do that math?
How about if non voters had voted? This is so stupid. How about if we’d allowed Joe to run instead of calling him old and genocide Joe? How about if we’d kept our brains?
With the nut in the WH, he could declare martial law and order the military to take them out. Trump is insane. Would the GOP Congress let him go that far? That is the question.
It’s gotta be millions in every major city, peacefully. (Tho the right will make sure they’re not peaceful. Then we’re shooting protestors and declaring martial law.) all that to say, YES STRONG AGREE.
Just for the sake of clarity lets get 100 million involved.
Start next weekend April 5th. Join US at your state capitol on Saturday at high noon.
It's time to show up for a showdown.
To be fair, Trump wouldn’t fit into those parameters. He can deny the truth in front of his eyes, as we’ve seen. It’d take leverage from other quarters to oust him. And everyone associated with him.
A succession plan would be vital.
Currently Donald has disenfranchised 33 million Americans so far.
By policy each 1 step closer.
Dictatorship demands loyalty to leader.
Absolute loyalty creates absolute obedience upon absolute cult leader.
Cult arrests undesirables.
Puts gays into prisons.
For being gay.
Not 1 crime committed.

Still, our numbers have got to amp up.
