I’ll never understand people who see a positive video game post and feel the need to attack.
Who hurt you?

GHOSTS: The Gamers!
TLDR: some of us are struggling with connecting and will lash out at anything.
Couldn’t help it lol. But fr I see way too many people getting shit on just for liking something and it’s weird but it’s also the Internet… it be what it be sometimes 🤷🏾♂️
If I can't have fun, no one can.

I don't play video games but, please do enjoy them!
"Oh so walking is just terrible now?! You rush around too much and miss stuff while I'm over here going at a snail's pace, looking at plants and rocks. You deserve nothing"
(unless the criticism *is* that the game is essentially a WarioWare clone, which I wouldn’t exactly refute)
Plus like, it’s pretty normal to make games inspired by other games? That’s just how art works??
"Game is okay but filled with woke nonsense"
"Game is too similar to my favorite game I prefer so it should not exist"
"Game went through one controversy that I just can't let go even if the devs fixed their wrongs"
Outrage is their pass time
it's internet law.
Love that movie!
I wish to make a brave little toaster game someday!
A conundrum 😭
We've all seen fights start over the most insane reasons, some even believe what they say but most don't, they just NEED to have an argument.
But also people are just miserable assholes lmao.
- The predatory model these days
- US army propaganda
- lotsa racism and plain old white supremacy
And maybe some other stuff. At least if I ever attack such posts. And I would if said game is Ocarina of Time and its blatant Islamophobia.
But yeah, zero need for it.
there’s a lot of things in popular culture that don’t grab me. but i’m extremely happy for any & all creators who find a loving audience.
Plenty of places around where you can indulge your need to critique. No need to pee on someone's joy.
It's unfortunately how we ended up with things like micro transactions and other predatory practices. Albeit, gamers are more vocal now, but now it's too late.
I find myself going back and playing more classic games to avoid the predatory microtransactions.
Their childhood sense of wonder sold and re-sold back to them with exploitative abuse systems grafted on to extract more money.
Millions are struggling with game addiction; with a hobby they fell out of love with, but it's so normalized and they're lashing out.
Unless you're praising something like EA, Ubisoft, Activision, Epic Games...
When those come up negativity seems like an attempt to cauterize a wound.
Me: "I enjoyed the game"
Them: IT WAS DISAPPOINTING YOU SHEEP I NG+7'D IT AND PUT 250 HOURS I BUT IT WAS BAD
Otoh these days you can't rarely remind someone about the "early access" part of the name in Path of Exile 2 Early Access w/o >:(
Starfield is like a trigger word for so many people haha
I try not to be the opposite & argue on negative posts tho. Disagree w broad strokes & saying things about the game that aren't true, but people have a right to dislike it too 😅
Anyway Starfield is great, glad you've enjoyed it!!
Cruelty Squad hurt me.
It turned into a whole thing with people attacking me for not knowing how run a pc (that I built btw) and yada yada.
Glad I deleted Reddit too
