The landlord payout feels like corruption of multiple sorts. As a kiwi I've always prided myself on living in a relatively non-corrupt society.The end result is what we've seen across the sciences in the last 6-12 mo, not to mention a collapsing economy & diminished race relations. Do get me started

Not how you get worker drones. They are intentionally narrowing education (remember Luxon - music is a nice to have, more maths and Seymour doesn’t want you learning Te Reo cause “math” apparently)which narrows people’s outlook and keeps them down. Easier to control them.

Thing is, what do we, New Zealanders, get for all these cuts?
FEWER THINGS. Not more things, fewer. Fewer services, infrastructure, jobs, money. We're scraping every spare penny into a pile to give it to people who already own several houses they don't even pay tax for the capital gains on.

Of course this will give them an excuse for reducing the pot as well. If, say the fund is only $75m in 2025 - only half that is available to "non-economic" research. Crusher Collins at her best
