And having enjoyed Quebec a while ago, poutine is all that and more. When I read about it, first impression was yuck, overkill. But after trying it I was soooo wrong. Will gladly cut fat out the rest of the day to make it up
This is true. All of my dinner meals are meat veggie carb. Usually lentil pasta because it takes like ten minutes to cook. The veggies are a frozen mix, and the meat is whatever I thawed in the morning. I'm cooking for 30 minutes tops.

My sister wrote a cooking book called “It’s All Irish Stew. Recipes on clear plastic where you can flip back layers and simplify and simplify. 24 recipes from 4 base 3 ingredient stews.
The American equivalent of poutine is the number of Tex-Mex dishes that include French fries. Put fries in your burritos and fajitas... You know what, a plate of fajitas isn't even complete without fries, anywhere, no exceptions.
German Currywurst is that to a tee, just some good cooked sausage over fries with a very good curry sauce. If they serve their own selfmade sauce keep those places in mind cause they're always the best ones.
Honestly canned Chili + Rice has been my go to "I don't feel like cooking, imma just make something fast" meal for a while.
It's got meat, beans, vegetables, and is fairly filling. You can also make a kitchen sink poutine with canned gravy, any kind of cheese, meats, and fries.
