Heritage's "bloodless, if the left allows it" lets us know that our protests and defiance will be met with force and violence, protected by the Executive Branch and law enforcement. This is what we have to look forward to in 2025.
It's that "if the left allows it" that I don't like.
I know for a fact that I am part of the left, and I will not allow it.
I'm putting it right here, right now, if they want me to stop resisting their aims, they're going to have to kill me.
Everyone's got a breaking point.
How much must this go on?
Works in the business realm too. During the silicon shortages, Nvidia was watching VERY CLOSELY what people were willing to buy a SCALPED GPU for.
And then what do you find when the next generation of GPU's comes out? They're pretty close to those scalper prices.
Wait them out. It works every time.
We should be organizing so that we're ready for what happens after November, they are. Doomerism & panicking helps nothing! Not one thing. Use that fear/anger for something useful.
Iβve always been an βafter you explain it to me and have very good reasonsβ obeyer and itβs gotten me into a lot of trouble at school. Because many times people donβt have good reasons, they just Imitate what was done to them.
I'm quite similar, apparently even after getting a concussion.
I don't remember it but apparently the EMT who was taking care of me was trying to put an IV in me, and I kept squirming until they explained what exactly they wanted to do, at which point I apparently let them do what they needed to.
From when my son was first old enough to question I've tried to have a good reason for anything I ask him to do (although we talk about it after for safety reasons). It's amazing how many things don't stand up to that kind of scrutiny...
Honestly? Itβs scary. I have a wife and 4 kids. In my darkest moments over the last several months (and in β16-β20) Iβve wondered what I will do should the US fully embrace fascism and as much as it pains me to say it Iβd likely put my head down and try to make myself as unnoticeable as possible.
It is when I see things like this that I realize just what they're trying to do with these abortion bans. It's not just an attack on women's rights (but let's be clear, it's also very much that).
It's also a way to tie up any "unruly" males who would otherwise start riots and things of that nature.
I've had similar unnerving thoughts about whether/in what ways my behaviors could change if I were to have a child in the next year or two. These are not easy questions to grapple with. I hope I would act in a way that made my children proud, even if it involved some risk.
Here's a few more. "Don't split your forces in the face of the enemy." Oops Democrats have already done that. How about, "Never surrender, never retreat." Nope Democrats already covered that one. Let's see. "Don't change horses in the middle of the stream?" Getting there.
Everyone is so concerned about government. But what about corporations? And a government that is subservient to those corporations? Because thatβs the real problem weβre facing.
If you are looking for pertinent reading material check out Erich Fromm's, 'Escape from Freedom,' and Eric Hoffer's, 'The True Believer.' Both are somewhat dated but incredible in the depth they go into understanding authoritarianism and mass movements.
Timothy Snyder, "On Tyranny". The whole thread is worth reading, because this first part is easy to take out of context. He's not calling for random, mindless resistance.
Been flirting with tyranny for a long time. The way employers treat employees is probably the most direct level. Work and obey without resistance, or be homeless.
This is why antifascism and anti-capitalism cannot be separated, fascism is the foremost defence mechanism of capitalism under threat. And liberalism, as the philosophical foundation of capitalism, will always prefer fascism to any weakening of capitalism
They use tricks such as cute PR intern and extern, and an environment that makes it look like your work is done for colleagues instead of for the corporation. On the outside it's even worse. Governments protect the people from predatory private power. This protection is destroyed by corporate money.

My neighbor sent this out to recruit people.
The list is FROM A REPUBLICAN neighbor if you look closely.
