Speaking as a former GC making these decisions, sadly Big Law firms are frequently hired because of their conflicts and perceived influence based on their business with the government. Arguably the Wall of Shame, though, now have an actual conflict by deciding to accept pressure from DT and ... 1/2

2/2 .... that must be considered in future decisions on hiring them. Some will be hired with the idea they might have juice with DT. But the smart GC's will not want to have the background noise of DT possibly invading the case or deal. And sadly, I hired or worked with people in firms on that wall.

Although I'm not surprised to see Ropes & Gray on the list it is disappointing. Back in the day in Boston they were well known to be an ultra conservative firm. Old Boston; old money. Still they were a highly reputable firm.
